Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at info@MelbourneChristian.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Parents act as “co-teachers,” using lesson plans and checklists provided by on-campus teachers to guide their child’s learning. It is our goal for new concepts to be taught in class and for parents to be the reinforcement through out the week. However, it is ultimately the parents responsibility to make sure the child has each concept learned.

YES- We know quality teachers make all of the difference in educating young students. It is an absolute priority that teachers are qualified and dedicated in providing their students with the highest quality, Christ-centered education.

Class sizes vary by grade level, typically ranging from 13 to 18 students. Lower school classes are supported by academic aids to enhance the learning environment.

Yes, our teachers will provide the material for students to do before, during, or after trips. This is a Co-Op, so the parents are ultimately responsible for their children's academic progress. We understand that flexiblily of schedules is a big concern for homeschooling families. As long as there is notice and parents do the work with children at home, the occasional time off during non-holiday weeks is acceptable.

Yes, Melbourne Christian Co-Op is foundationally based on a Christian worldview. Our curriculum will uphold Biblical Christian values and beliefs. Staff and families applying to the Co-Op are required to make a Statement of Faith. Teachers are expected to uphold these values and be good role models to students. There will be devotional time, prayer, Biblical teachings, and weekly chapel that students will attend. See the ABOUT tab for specific about our doctrinal beliefs.
